1. Who are you?
My name is Amanda Taylor, I'm from the NorthWest of England and have lived in Liverpool for about 20 years.
2. Why are you an expert on WW1?
I don't claim to be an expert! I've been researching family history for about 20 years and my focus on WW1 research began about 15 years ago. In that time I've researched hundreds of individuals. I'm familiar with all the military databases available online and have access to Ancestry and FindmyPast records. Through much reading, trial and error, help from others and perserverance, I have a pretty good idea what I'm doing, or I know someone who can help.
3. Do you charge for your research?
The information I'm presenting on this website has been done as a hobby, I've not been paid to produce it and I'm not charging to share it.
I do sometimes take commissions as a freelance researcher and have provided people with written accounts of their relatives' experiences as shown in wartime documents and photographs. If you'd like to know more please contact me.
4. What sort of information does your website include?
I'm not fussy, if anything catches my interest that has any sort of links to Liverpool (and sometimes the surrounding areas) and the First World War, I'll probably want to research it. Sometimes it might be trying to find the story behind a single photograph, sometimes it involves researching 100 men named on a war memorial.
