WIGAN VICTIM OF THE BURUTU

Mrs Rothwell of 318, Warrington-road, Goose-Green, Wigan, who, with her six children, was anxiously awaiting the homecoming of her husband Mr Thomas Rothwell, after an absence of nearly two years in West Africa, has received news from the Elder-Dempster Steamship Company that he was a passenger by the ill-fated liner Burutu and is not among the passengers who have been saved. A later message informs her that her husband's body has been recovered and is being brought home for burial.
