THE BURUTU DEATH-ROLL

According to latest information it is feared that the loss of life in the disaster to the Liverpool liner Burutu, sunk as the result of a collision in the darkness of Thursday morning last, will total between 170 and 200. The official list of survivors total 50, namely, 25 passengers and 25 crew.

Only one boat was succesfully launched, and the liner heeled over and sank in ten minutes. Of three women on board, two passengers and a stewardess, one was rescued.
